- Porque sí sabés lo que significan los tribales, ¿cierto?

En ese instante no sabía, me dijo que son figuras geométricas que forman una figura abstracta más grande*.

Tiempo después, en mi TL cayó un link hacia una pregunta de Yahoo Answers en la que cuestionaban el significado de los tribales. Le respondieron algo similar, diciéndole que generalmente eran figuras sin sentido que formarían flores.

Investigué un poco y su significado comienza en la distinción de tribus* por ello el nombre de tribal. Primero servía para adornar, simplemente, después fue símbolo de posesión. Se perdieron estos significado puesto que las tribus fueron desapareciendo poco a poco y lo que se fue haciendo fue modificar los diseños a como te gustaran, por lo tanto, los originales, los que significaban que fueras parte de una tribu, esos diseños ya no existen.

Pero ahora, los tatuajes tribales (y ojo que son palabras de William Weazrock Huezo) ya no tienen significado, solo son estéticos.

Just a few people really know what does a tribal tattoo means. A few years ago, I met my friend’s sister, she had 4 tattoos, we started talking and at the end she asked me:

- Because you know what does tribal tattoos mean, don’t you?

I didn’t know at that time and she told me, there were geometrical shapes that were part of a bigger figure. Then, a Yahoo! Answer appeared in front of me, someone replied tribals were abstract shapes for make flowers.

But, I did a little research and I found tribal tattoos started as tribe distinction. It lost their meaning when tribes dissappeared, because there were not an official design, anymore.

Right now, tribal tattoos are just esthetic. :)
